Description
Documentary about the Blockade of Leningrad during World War II. The film presents an emotional picture of the struggle of some survivors, whose personal memories tend to be overshadowed by the heroic myth held up by the authorities. That myth is in painful contrast with the horrific truth they were forbidden to mention all these years.

Description
Produced by the Soviet Union, the film records the Red Army field units and the Red Banner Baltic Fleet units in their 1939-40 Winter War campaign against the White Finnish Guard. The film visually depicts the much vaunted Mannerheim Line in all its actual emplacements, as seen but two weeks after their capture, and as filmed by Red Army combat photographers onsite. Shows these fortifications in great detail, augmented by animated maps.
