Description
Bold, bright acrylics fill the pages of this book and help illustrate words that are opposites. After explaining the meaning of the term, colorful words and supportive illustrations convey the meaning in a series of simple sentences. A tiny bird perched on the hoof of a bull conveys, big and small, while a classroom clearly distinguishes between teacher and student. A cookie jar and an eager hungry little mouse help explain a graded antonym by showing the jar half full, nearly empty, almost full and mostly empty. Complete with a "Fun With" section with sample activities to extend the text as well as a glossary and index, this would be a useful addition to a classroom library or it may be a supplemental tool to use with children learning English as a second language.
