Notes
General Note
Little Women was originally written in two parts, and this volume contains only part one, which ends with Mr. March's return. It's sequel, Little Women, Part II, was published in 1869. In 1880 the two volumes were published together for the first time.
General Note
The Whole Story edition reproduces the original, unrevised text of Little Women exactly as it was first offered to readers in October of 1869.
General Note
Illustrated in color and black-and-white, featuring line drawings, maps, photographs, diagrams, and paintings, many of which date from when the story was written.
General Note
Annotated with hundreds of extended captions: explanations of history, geography, popular culture, social customs, the animal world, architecture, literature, and science.
