Amanda Cadenhead
Job Title
Community Engagement Librarian

Amanda Cadenhead has been the Community Engagement Librarian at the Burleson Library since 2015 and has worked at the library since 2009. Her job is to develop and foster relationships between the library and businesses and community groups. Amanda is a Ambassador with the Burleson Area Chamber of Commerce and enjoys meeting all the new Chamber members at their ribbon cuttings.

Amanda earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology from Texas Tech and then a Master of Library Science degree from Emporia State University, Kansas. Her love of reading and helping people led her to librarianship and she loves making people's days a little bit smoother.

She enjoys reading, knitting, watching British comedians on quiz shows, and ballet class. She has two adult children, a husband, and a sweet dog named Coco.

Becky Fowler
Job Title
Youth Services Librarian

Becky Fowler is the Youth Services Librarian of the Burleson Public Library. She is responsible for planning and implementing all the youth programming for the library. Her favorite part of her job is connecting with families at the weekly storytimes she holds for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers. Becky loves when she can make books come alive for young readers. She also loves partnering with local businesses and organizations to provide fun programming out in the Burleson community.

Becky received her bachelor’s degree in education from West Texas A & M University and her master’s degree in library and information science from the University of North Texas. She started her library career five years ago as the Children’s Librarian, and after a couple of years she became the Youth Services Librarian.

Becky spends her free time with her husband, Tyler, and her two very energetic dogs, Maverick and Scout. She loves reading, of course, and is always in the process of planning her next Harry Potter party.

Kelly Clute
Job Title
Circulation Supervisor

Kelly Clute is the Circulation Supervisor. She has been in this position since January 2018.

Kelly received her bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Tulsa, and her master’s degree in library and information science from the University of North Texas. She is a member of Phi Kappa Phi.

In her spare time, Kelly enjoys reading, gardening, swimming, and playing with her cats.

Sara Miller
Job Title
Deputy Director

Sara Miller is the Deputy Director of the Burleson Public Library, where she leads an amazing team of librarians who are passionate about serving others. Sara believes that public libraries play a critical role in transforming lives and communities through education and access to information. Sara began her library career 19 years ago when she was hired by the City of Burleson as a library aide. Since then, she has worked as a Technical Services Librarian, Adult Services Librarian, and now Deputy Director. She played an instrumental role in forming MetroShare Libraries and served as the 2022 Chair of the MetroShare board of directors. Sara holds a Master of Library Science from Texas Woman's University and is a member of Beta Phi Mu. She also holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Oklahoma, where she was an Oklahoma Regent Scholar and majored in psychology. When she's not at the library, Sara can be found camping with her husband Vic or goofing around with their two dogs.

Wendy Lastovica-Alvey
Job Title
Youth Services Librarian

Wendy Lastovica-Alvey is a Youth Services Librarian at the Burleson Public Library. She takes care of teen programming as well as the Young Adult and Graphic Novels collections. She is a former Burleson ISD librarian and enjoys working with the local schools to bring a love of literacy and community to teens and tweens in the area.

Wendy earned a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from the University of Texas at Arlington and taught art for over a decade. She then received a master’s of library science from the University of North Texas before becoming a school librarian. Her time at BISD led her to her position at the public library where she is able to work with a broader group of community teens.

At home, Wendy enjoys spending time with her dogs, Nino and Twiggy, as well as her husband and friends. You might find her riding her ebike on the Trinity Trails looking for new places to eat or looking for treasures at a nearby record or antique store.
